Where industrial logistics comes together

Some cargo asks more of a warehouse. Heavy machinery, steel coils, oversized production lines and project shipments need space, strength and the right handling equipment to move safely through the supply chain.

At Genk-Zuid, extensive warehouse capacity is combined with reinforced infrastructure, heavy-lift equipment, bonded storage, container storage and multimodal connections. This gives industrial customers one location to store, handle, prepare and distribute cargo that does not fit conventional warehousing.

Looking for terminal handling, barge schedules or container throughput specifically?

Bonded storage for industrial and project cargo and more

Imported machinery, steel and project components can be stored under customs supervision at Genk-Zuid, with duties and VAT only due once goods are released. For industrial customers managing large or high-value shipments, that means greater flexibility over when capital is tied up in import costs, without needing a separate customs-controlled facility of your own.

Strategically positioned for Europe

Genk-Zuid sits alongside the Albert Canal, at the crossroads of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, with immediate access to the E313 and E314.

Proximity to Liège Airport, a major cargo airport in the Benelux, adds a further option for time-sensitive or international cargo.

Maastricht, the Netherlands - 30 minutes

Aachen, Germany - 1 hour

Duisburg, Germany - 1.5 hours

Eindhoven, the Netherlands - 1.5 hours

Case study: Keeping large-scale operations moving on schedule

Genk-Zuid's flexibility comes into its own when timelines are unforgiving. For a recent Bruno Mars tour, equipment arrived on four freight flights into Liège, was trucked to Genk-Zuid on 40 vehicles and stored for a week before being crossloaded, sorted and reloaded on-site by the touring crew, for the next leg across Europe.

A comparable operation for BTS saw 80 containers arrive by inland barge, fully unloaded within two days, then reloaded into eighty trucks bound for Madrid.

Both projects show what the site is built for: not just storing cargo, but preparing the next stage of a tightly scheduled operation.

A flexible overflow solution for Carglass

Genk-Zuid shows how Gosselin's warehouse infrastructure can become an extension of a customer's own operation.

Part of Unit 3 serves as an overflow warehouse for neighbouring Carglass facilities, providing 16 000 pallet positions, with around 7 000 pallets currently stored. Containers arrive through the terminal, including by inland waterway. Depending on the flow, they either continue directly to Carglass or are first unloaded and stored at Gosselin.

Around five shuttle runs a day keep stock moving between the two sites, a flexible solution that lets the customer absorb additional volume without building extra infrastructure of their own.

Handling capacity that matches the cargo

The combination of warehouse capacity and heavy-lift infrastructure means cargo can move through several stages without unnecessary transfers.

project coordination & execution

Ready for complex projects

Genk-Zuid can also form part of a larger project logistics chain. Gosselin's Control Tower can coordinate communication, documentation, stevedoring, transportation, marshalling, storage, cargo inspection and last-mile delivery, while external parties such as local authorities, surveyors, inspection companies, shipping lines, EPC subcontractors and vendors are coordinated through the same logistics structure.

This becomes particularly valuable when cargo is moving through multiple locations and several parties need to work to the same schedule.
