Industries & Cargo Types

A steel coil, a wind turbine blade and a pallet of skincare don't belong in the same warehouse or on the same truck. We build around what you ship, not a generic service that fits everything a little and nothing well.

Logistics that starts with what you're actually shipping

Every cargo type comes with its own requirements, and treating them all the same way is where things go wrong. A steel coil needs a heavy-duty forklift and the right blocking, not a pallet rack. Plywood heading to Australia needs fumigation carried out to an exact standard, since a single degree off can see the whole container rejected at the border. A fashion collection needs to clear customs and reach the shop floor before the season moves on, not after.

We've built our terminals and warehouses around these differences, rather than running one generic process for every type of cargo. Find your cargo below, or get in touch directly if it doesn't fit a single category, since a significant share of what we handle doesn't.

(Non-)ferrous metals

Steel and aluminium are heavy, valuable, and unforgiving of poor handling. A single coil can weigh up to 20 tonnes, and a dented sheet or a rusted plate isn't a minor issue, it's a claim.

We handle coils, plates, bars, tubes and pipes with the right equipment and experienced terminal crews, supported by river barge and coastal connections that keep heavy cargo off the road wherever possible.

Machinery & industrial equipment

A CNC machine, a compressor or a complete production line rarely travels in one piece, and rarely to a schedule with room for error. It calls for careful planning, the right lifting equipment, and a team with experience moving this kind of cargo.

Our project logistics team manages routing, permits and specialist transport, while our warehouses provide the reinforced floors and overhead cranes that oversized machinery requires before and after the move.

Plywood & timber

Wood products require precise storage and export conditions. Damp storage damages plywood, and fumigation requirements vary by destination, sometimes down to the degree. Getting it wrong doesn't mean a warning, it means a rejected shipment.

We store timber, logs and paper reels in dedicated dry warehousing, and treat export cargo in our own fumigation rooms, keeping the process and the paperwork under one roof rather than handing it off midway.

Non-hazardous chemicals & raw materials

Manufacturing doesn't tolerate a missed delivery. Raw materials arriving late, or contaminated, mean a production line standing idle, and idle time costs considerably more than the shipment itself.

We combine customs expertise, secure warehousing and reliable transport to keep supply steady, whether that's bulk raw materials or palletised industrial products requiring careful, consistent handling.

Consumer goods (FMCG)

Fast-moving consumer goods demand speed and consistency at scale, from fashion collections working to a launch date to cold-chain shipments that can't afford a delay. We combine bonded storage, inventory control and time-critical distribution to keep these supply chains moving, whatever the product.

Spare parts & components

A broken machine doesn't wait for a convenient delivery window. When a part fails, it needs to be nearby, correctly labelled and easy to locate, not somewhere in a queue.

We manage inventory through our own warehouse management system, pick individual components by barcode, and distribute worldwide by road, sea or air, depending on how urgent the order is.

Not sure where your cargo fits?

A significant share of what we handle blends categories, chemicals that also require cold storage, machinery that also requires customs clearance across five countries. That's normal. Tell us what you're shipping and we'll determine the right combination rather than forcing it into a single category.

When your cargo doesn't fit a category

Some shipments don't sit neatly under any of the categories above. A wind turbine blade. A complete factory line. Five heavy-lift units arriving by ship on a fixed installation date, such as the 93-metre, 589-tonne unit we discharged for INEOS Project One at our Oosterweel marshalling yard.

For cargo like this, our project logistics team plans the entire operation, permits, pilot vehicles, route surveys and heavy-lift handling included, rather than fitting it into a process built for something smaller.

A site already built for whatever you're shipping

Knowing your cargo is only half the equation. We've also built the physical infrastructure to match it.

Steel and machinery move through the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, where cranes rated up to 125 tonnes sit alongside bonded warehousing. Timber and forest products are treated in the fumigation rooms at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges and Deurne, alongside heavy-lift marshalling for the largest industrial projects. Spare parts are picked and packed at Deurne, backed by 180 000 m² of warehousing and a barcode-driven fulfilment setup. Time-critical consumer goods move through Brucargo, our own bonded facility at Brussels Airport.

Tell us about your cargo, we'll handle the rest
