The paper trail – a fine example of seamless multimodal logistic excellence

The fastest, economically interesting and most sustainable way of bridging the gap between the French border and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges? Rail. The flow of paper reels that leave the Port of Antwerp-Bruges to the Gosselin LAR terminal in Rekkem with a final destination in the North of France, is a perfect example of this.

These paper reels arrive in containers at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges where they are loaded directly onto the train tracks. There are three to four daily services from the port to Gosselin LAR in Rekkem or the other way around. 

Upon arrival, the containers are unloaded. A specialy forklift then unloads the container and the reels are stored in a dedicated (bonded) warehouse where the stock can be deployed on call. 

“The last-mile to our customers in the north of France happens by e-truck as much as possible. This way we combine cost, service, and sustainability to offer a reliable and high-quality supply-chain to our customers”, says Alexander Demon, Sales Manager at Gosselin West.
